The Beginning - Polly's story

I have been waking up at four most mornings for a while now, and lying there with the thoughts swirling around my head until the rest of the world surfaces.. This morning the thoughts were of this website and this blog and how I was going to start it all.

It's been a funny old year, so far. I turned fifty at the end of the last one, (lets not be coy about ages, who really cares?) and as this one began, two huge opportunities opened up. My first play got a rehearsed reading and this bookshop became available. So, after twenty-five years as a secondary school English teacher I am completely changing my life. This is completely terrifying, but also, of course, incredibly exciting. I cannot wait to open and share this wonderful place with you all. See you soon!
